Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies (CBT)
Cognitive Behavior Therapy encompasses a variety of therapeutic approaches all of which draw connections between emotions as motivating factors and the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that ensue. CBT is an efficacious treatment approach for a variety of presenting conditions across the lifespan.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills Training
Please note, EBPC, Inc. does not provide comprehensive DBT services. We do provide DBT skills training for adolescents, adults, and parents experiencing intense and distressing emotions including anxiety, depression, and self-harm or suicidal ideation. DBT skills services are available as part of individual therapy services or as an additional service for those seeking individualized skills training in a one-on-one format rather group setting. If you are interested in DBT please reach out for additional information.
Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is a highly effective therapeutic approach for decreasing avoidance and reducing distress secondary to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders (OCD), anxiety disorders, and trauma. ERP involves reducing avoidance and increasing approach of feared stimuli through active, exposure-based therapy.
Behavioral Activation (BA)
Behavioral Activation is an active treatment approach that increases goal-directed behavior and decreases mood-dependent behavior to increase activity, life satisfaction, and fulfillment. BA has been tested in adults and teens and found to be effective in reducing depression symptoms and decreasing avoidance and improving mood.
Mindfulness-Based Therapies
Mindfulness-based therapies help patients increase awareness around current experiences of emotions, thoughts, and behavior to help increase well-being and decrease suffering. Meditation and mindfulness-practices are found to be important components of evidence-based practices and are incorporated into our work with individuals and families in a manner tailored to the developmental needs of the patient.
Parent Management Training & Parenting Consultations
We offer several parent training therapies ideally suited for parents of children with ADHD, behavior problems (e.g., ODD), and emotion dysregulation. Through a series of targeted and systematic modules, parents will gain skills that increase parent and child organizational skills, behavioral regulation, family cohesion, improve relationships with siblings, and reduce parental distress. We apply evidence based methods from PMT, DBT, and PCIT when working with parents and families.
Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)
Several of our providers are trained in SPACE, SPACE AFRID and SPACE Failure to Launch. This therapeutic method targets parental behaviors and accommodations that may maintain anxiety symptoms and OCD in children, teens, and young adults. This therapy approach works with parents directly on behaviors that may be modifiable and under the control of parents to help achieve fast and lasting results.
Collaboration with Prescribers
When applicable we work closely with prescribing physicians including primary physicians, pediatricians and psychiatrists to help clients achieve their treatment goals. This may include measuring and tracking medication effectiveness or helping individuals adjust and/or discontinue medication.
