Terms of Use

Evidence Based Psychological Care, Inc.

Effective date: September 19, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of ebpcare.com, which is operated by Evidence Based Psychological Care, Inc., a California professional corporation. By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The website does not create a treatment relationship

Reading this website, browsing our Resource Hub, submitting the contact form, or scheduling a complimentary consultation does not create a therapist-patient or psychologist-patient relationship between you and EBPC or any of our clinicians. A treatment relationship begins only after you complete our intake process, sign our informed consent and financial agreements, and a clinician accepts you or your child as a patient.

The content is educational, not clinical advice

Our articles, guides, infographics, and service descriptions are general educational information about child, adolescent, and young adult mental health. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or advice about any particular person. Mental health conditions present differently in different people, and treatment that fits one child may be wrong for another. Never delay seeking care, disregard advice from your own treating professional, or change a treatment plan because of something you read here. If you have a question about your child or yourself, consult a licensed professional who can evaluate the specific situation.

Emergencies

This website is not monitored continuously and it is not an emergency service. If you or your child is in crisis, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You may also call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, which operates 24 hours a day. Do not use the contact form to report an emergency, because we may not see it in time.

Where we are licensed

Our clinicians provide services only in states where they hold a current license, and telehealth is available only to people physically located in those states at the time of the appointment. Information on this site is not an offer to provide psychological services in any jurisdiction where we are not licensed.

Communications through this website

Messages sent through the contact form or by ordinary email are not encrypted and are not a secure way to send health information. Please limit what you send to what is needed to start a conversation. We will move clinical discussion to a secure channel once you are a patient. We may use the contact information you provide to respond to your inquiry and to follow up about scheduling.

Our content

The text, graphics, logos, photographs, roadmaps, and other material on this site belong to EBPC or to the parties who licensed them to us, and they are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read, print, and share our articles for personal or educational use with attribution to Evidence Based Psychological Care, Inc. and a link to the original page. You may not republish, sell, or adapt our content commercially, and you may not use our name or logo to suggest that we endorse you, without our written permission. If you would like to reproduce something, contact us, since we usually say yes.

Acceptable use

When you use this site, please do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to it or to any system connected to it, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest content or contact information by automated means, submit false information, impersonate another person, or use the site in a way that interferes with anyone else's use of it. We may restrict access to anyone who does these things.

Third-party links and services

We link to outside research, professional organizations, and resources because they are useful, and we use third-party services for scheduling, forms, and payments. We do not control those sites and services, we do not endorse everything they contain, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that service's own terms.

No guarantees

We work to keep this site accurate and current, and we update it as our services and the research change. Even so, the site is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses, and we do not warrant that every statement will remain accurate as clinical knowledge develops. We disclaim all warranties to the fullest extent the law allows.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, EBPC and its officers, clinicians, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or from anything you read on it. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability arising from professional services provided to a patient under a treatment agreement, which is governed by that agreement and by California law rather than by these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The revised version takes effect when we post it here with a new effective date, and your continued use of the site after that means you accept the change.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from your use of this website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you agree to that venue.
