Not sure what your child needs? Start here.
When the picture is complicated, you do not have to guess between therapy, testing, or waiting it out. In a 90-minute consultation, one of our psychologists reviews your child's history and records, works through the full picture with you, and gives you a clear recommendation. Nothing has to follow.
No evaluation or treatment required.
For families who are not sure what is needed.
Families and the providers who refer them often book a consultation when one of these sounds familiar.
- You have heard different opinions from the school, the pediatrician, and friends
- Attention, anxiety, mood, and learning concerns seem tangled together
- You have prior reports or testing and do not know what to do with them
- You wonder whether a full evaluation is worth it
- Therapy has not helped as much as you hoped
How is this different from the free call?
The free 20-minute call with our intake coordinator covers services, fees, and scheduling. The consultation is a clinical meeting with a psychologist, who reviews your child's records in advance and gives you an expert recommendation.
For referring providers
Pediatricians, schools, and therapists can refer a family when the clinical question is complex. With family consent, we send our recommendations back to your team.

Meet Dr. KiffYour fee goes toward an evaluation.
If your psychologist recommends a full evaluation and you go ahead with it, we apply your consultation fee toward the cost of that evaluation. You never pay twice for the same answers. Our intake coordinator will confirm the fee before you schedule.

We also offer a 60-minute consultation and liaison session for a second opinion, school meeting attendance, care coordination, or guidance on the next step.
Common questions.
What should I send before the consultation?
Send anything that helps tell your child's story, such as prior evaluations, report cards, IEP or 504 documents, teacher notes, and reports from other providers. Your psychologist reviews them before you meet.
What happens if you recommend an evaluation?
We explain which type of evaluation fits your question and why. If you go ahead with it at Evidence Based Psychological Care, we apply your consultation fee toward it.
Do we have to do anything after the consultation?
No. The consultation stands on its own. You leave with a recommendation, and what you do next is up to you.
Can a pediatrician or school refer us?
Yes. Providers and schools often refer families for a consultation when the clinical question is complex. With your consent, we share our recommendations with your child's team.
Does insurance cover a consultation?
We are an out-of-network practice and do not bill insurance directly. We provide a superbill, and reimbursement depends on your plan. HSA and FSA funds can be used.
