Assessment Services

Assessments

Navigating school challenges, behavioral changes, or developmental milestones can leave families looking for clear answers. At Evidence Based Psychological Care, Inc., we provide comprehensive, science-backed neuropsychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. Our goal is to look beyond isolated symptoms to understand how your child’s unique brain, behavior, and environment interact, giving you a clear roadmap for their academic and emotional success.

Comprehensive Testing Tailored to Your Child

We utilize scientifically validated assessment tools to identify strengths and vulnerabilities across several key areas:

  • Attention & Executive Functioning: Evaluating focus, working memory, organization, and planning skills often associated with ADHD.

  • Learning & Academic Profiles: Diagnosing specific learning disorders, including dyslexia (reading), dysgraphia (writing), and dyscalculia (math).

  • Neurodevelopmental Conditions: Specialized assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and developmental delays.

  • Cognitive & Intellectual Functioning: Measuring processing speed, verbal reasoning, and visual-spatial skills.

  • Social-Emotional & Behavioral Well-being: Identifying underlying anxiety, mood fluctuations, or trauma-related impacts on learning.

Our Step-by-Step Assessment Process.

  1. Initial Intake Consultation: 60 Minutes.

We meet with parents/guardians to review developmental history, medical backgrounds, school reports, and current areas of concern to customize the testing battery.

2. Testing Sessions:Varies (Usually 1-2 Sessions).

Your child participates in interactive, 1-on-1 standardized testing. We prioritize a supportive, low-pressure environment with built-in breaks to ensure optimal stamina and accurate results.

3.Collateral & School Observations: Ongoing.

With your permission, we connect with teachers, pediatricians, or speech therapists to gather multi-setting data on how your child functions in daily life.

4. Comprehensive Feedback & Reporting: 2-3 Weeks Post-Testing.

We sit down with you to deliver a detailed, highly readable report. We explain the findings clearly—without dense jargon—and outline explicit, actionable accommodations for home and school (IEP/504 planning).

Who Can Benefit from an Evaluation?

Neuropsychological and/or psychological evaluations can benefit individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. These evaluations are often recommended for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Diagnostic Clarity: When symptoms are complex or overlapping, a psychological evaluation can help clarify a diagnosis, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, learning disabilities, or developmental delays.

  • Treatment Planning: A thorough assessment can inform treatment planning by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and individualized interventions that are most likely to be effective.

  • Educational Accommodations: For students experiencing academic difficulties, a psychological evaluation can identify learning disabilities or other cognitive challenges that may require educational accommodations or specialized interventions.

  • Emotional and Behavioral Concerns: Individuals struggling with emotional or behavioral difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, or trauma-related issues, can benefit from a psychological evaluation to better understand underlying factors and develop targeted interventions.
