Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluations

Neuropsychological evaluations explore the brain functions underlying cognition, learning, behavior, and social-emotional development. using standardized test measures. Testing involves paper-and-pencil tasks, interactive questions, hands-on activities, and iPad/computer-based measures. The evaluation process also includes an in-depth parent interview, review of records, and collaboration with additional providers (e.g., teachers, health care providers, therapists). Recommendations for treatment and educational accommodations are provided at the end as well as a written report.

Psychological Evaluations

A psychological evaluation is a thorough assessment to gather information about an individual's psychological and personality functioning, strengths, challenges, and well-being. This process involves a variety of assessment tools, including standardized tests, interviews, observations, and self-report measures, tailored to the specific concerns and goals of the individual.

Who Can Benefit from an Evaluation?

Neuropsychological and/or psychological evaluations can benefit individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. These evaluations are often recommended for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Diagnostic Clarity: When symptoms are complex or overlapping, a psychological evaluation can help clarify a diagnosis, such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, learning disabilities, or developmental delays.

  • Treatment Planning: A thorough assessment can inform treatment planning by identifying strengths, weaknesses, and individualized interventions that are most likely to be effective.

  • Educational Accommodations: For students experiencing academic difficulties, a psychological evaluation can identify learning disabilities or other cognitive challenges that may require educational accommodations or specialized interventions.

  • Emotional and Behavioral Concerns: Individuals struggling with emotional or behavioral difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, or trauma-related issues, can benefit from a psychological evaluation to better understand underlying factors and develop targeted interventions.
